    🔺 Scope Triangle (Project Management Triangle)

    The Scope Triangle, also known as the Project Management Triangle or Triple Constraint, is a fundamental concept in Software Project Management.


    🔹 1. Definition

    The Scope Triangle represents the relationship between three key constraints of a project:

    Scope – Time – Cost

    It shows that changing one constraint will affect the others.


    🔹 2. The Three Components

    🔸 1. Scope (What to build)

    • Defines features, functions, and requirements of the project
    • Answers: What work needs to be done?

    👉 Example: In a mobile app, scope includes login system, dashboard, notifications, etc.


    🔸 2. Time (Schedule)

    • The duration required to complete the project
    • Includes deadlines and milestones

    👉 Example: Project must be completed in 3 months


    🔸 3. Cost (Budget)

    • The total budget required
    • Includes salaries, tools, infrastructure

    👉 Example: Budget = $10,000


    🔹 3. Relationship Between the Three

    The triangle works on this rule:

    ⚖️ “You cannot change one side without affecting the others.”

    📌 Key Relationships:

    • If Scope increases → Time & Cost increase
    • If Time decreases (tight deadline) → Cost increases or Scope decreases
    • If Cost decreases → Scope or Time must be reduced

    • Bottom-left: Time
    • Bottom-right: Cost

    👉 Meaning:

    • Balanced triangle = successful project

    • Client adds 5 more features (scope ↑) → You must either:

      • Increase time, or
      • Increase cost (hire more developers)
